About us

The Food Bank of Bolivia is the first food bank in the country, a non-profit institution dedicated to collecting surplus food generated at different stages of the food chain for subsequent redistribution to organizations that serve vulnerable populations.

We work to reduce hunger

In Bolivia, 23.1% of Bolivians are undernourished (FAO, 2023). And at the same time, thousands of tons of perfectly good food are wasted every day (Food Bank of Bolivia, 2017).

Gather

We recover and collect food from different sectors that produce surpluses.

Select

Once the food is received, it goes through a registration, review, selection and classification process.

Distribute

Food is assigned and delivered to different social organizations.

Accompany

We provide support to the beneficiary institutions with the objective of guaranteeing the adequate consumption of the products delivered.

Report

We prepare reports that detail the population that benefited from that donation along with a photographic record.
